Job Description MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB To source global industry MICE data to keep abreast of trends and inform UCB’s innovative future strategic direction, and measures industry sector performance (qualitatively and quantitatively) against goals. QUALIFICATIONSHonour’s Bachelor’s degree in either Quantitative Economics, Economics or Statistics from a recognized University.EXPERIENCEa) Three (3) experience in a similar role in a busy and reputable institution.b) Understanding of how to analyse market trends& competition, strengthening brand awareness, and ensuring consistency in messaging across all channels.c) Experience with computers, report-writing, spreadsheets and online or social media marketing.KEY COMPETENCIESa. Technical Competenciesi. Sound knowledge of the sector and its value chain,ii. Strong analytical and numerical skills in research statistics and data analysis,iii. Strategic planning skills,iv. Good communication and report writing competencies.v. An understanding of economic processes,vi. Customer Focus Collaborationvii. Ability to constantly scan the tourism sector in order to identify opportunities or address emerging situations for the benefit of stakeholders,viii. Research/ Knowledge Management b. Results orientedKEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORSa) MICE Research strategy in place and constantly validated.b) Produce monthly risk logs.c) Timely periodic brand performance reports: weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports.d) Quarterly reporting on progress of various strategic plans (e.g. MRMP, Meet in Uganda subvention strategy, MTIMS and MIMS programmes.e) Annual UCB (institution) report Company report of activities delivered against portfolio KPIs.f) UCB annual research report Comprehensive annual research report developed and shared with MICE industry stakeholders (including global MICE trends – intelligence data analysis).g) Quarterly submission of ICCA qualifying events – using UCB calendar of events and venue data with final annual submission in January every year.h) Establish CRM for UCB; ongoing maintenance and management of platform.i) Delegate conference survey report.j) Calendar of Past Events updated.
