As part of our expansion in Uganda, we are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Generator Service Engineer to join our technical operations team.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Generator Service Engineer will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of AKSA diesel generators and related power systems for residential, commercial, and industrial clients. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring reliable after-sales technical support, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence across Uganda. The ideal candidate must have strong technical knowledge of diesel generators, excellent fault- diagnosis skills, and the ability to provide professional technical support while maintaining high standards of workmanship, safety, and customer satisfaction.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Install, commission, and test AKSA generators at customer sites
• Perform preventive maintenance, servicing, and periodic inspections
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults in diesel generators and power systems
• Conduct troubleshooting for engines, alternators, ATS systems, control panels, and related generator components
• Respond to customer technical issues and emergency breakdowns promptly and professionally
• Prepare technical service reports and maintenance records accurately
• Conduct site inspections and evaluate installation requirements
• Ensure compliance with technical standards and safety procedures during all field operations
• Provide technical guidance and operational advice to customers
• Coordinate with technical and sales teams to support project execution and customer satisfaction
• Maintain proper handling and care of tools, spare parts, and equipment
• Support after-sales service operations and customer retention initiatives
• Maintain organized maintenance schedules and technical service records
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or related field
• Minimum 3–7 years of experience in generator installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, alternators, ATS systems, and generator control systems
• Ability to diagnose both mechanical and electrical generator faults effectively
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics
• Experience working with industrial or commercial generators is highly desirable
• Experience working with generator brands such as AKSA, Perkins, Cummins, FG Wilson, CAT, or related systems is an added advantage
• Good communication and customer handling skills
• Ability to work independently under field conditions and manage technical emergencies
• Good command of written and spoken English
• Valid driving permit is an added advantage
