Job Summary:
The Senior Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Accountant will play a critical role in shaping the financial strategy of the company, by providing insight and analysis to support decision-making and driving business performance. This individual will be responsible for creating and maintaining the company’s financial plans, analyzing performance, producing regular financial reports, managing financial risks, and providing support to senior management.
Responsibilities & Duties;
Planning & Forecasting
- Timely preparation of monthly management accounts: including written and graphical analysis of business performance, based on discussions with product and department managers
- Annual budgeting process: Develop and maintain the company's annual budget and long-term financial projections
- Planning Calendar: clear communication & ownership of the planning calendar, including inputs & outputs required
- Performance Measurement: Provide regular updates to senior management on financial performance against budget
- Financial Control: Work closely with all business units to ensure budgets are accurate, comprehensive, and aligned with the overall business strategy
Analysis
- Perform in-depth financial analysis to support decision-making, including analyzing performance against budget and identifying areas for improvement
- Develop and maintain financial models to support forecasting and scenario analysis for all products and areas of the business.
- Monitor financial metrics and identify trends that may impact the company’s financial performance.
Reporting
- Produce regular financial reports for senior management, including performance metrics, trends, and forecasts
- Ensure that financial reports are accurate, timely and provide insightful analysis. ∙
- Work with the Finance Manager to develop and maintain effective reporting processes and systems.
- Perform regular reconciliations of all the wallets and maintain accurate balances at all times.
- Initiate all Distributor payments in a Timely Manner
Risk Management
- Develop and maintain effective risk management processes to ensure that financial risks are effectively managed.
- Provide regular updates to senior management on financial risks and their impact on the company
Capital’s financial performance.
- Cost Management
- Identify and track costs associated with the bank's operations.
- Work with business units to ensure cost management strategies are implemented effectively.
- Provide regular updates to senior management on cost management and cost control measures to inform decision making
Qualifications, Competence, and Experience
- High analytical & meticulous attention to detail
- Superb written & spoken communication skills, able to translate complex financials to stakeholders.
- Commercially astute and able to suggest ways to improve product performance ∙
- Self-starter and capable of autonomous working
- Organized, able to multitask & prioritize work under time pressures
- A strong service ethos
- A can-do, proactive, energetic attitude towards your work & a strong team player ∙

- A proactive approach to issues and challenges
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
- Full ACCA or CPA is an added advantage.
- A minimum of 4 years of experience in financial planning and analysis in a financial institution.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, process, and analyze large amounts of data.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in financial modeling and spreadsheet software.
- Experience in the banking industry is a plus.
- A flexible approach and a can-do attitude
