Role Summary:
The Promotions and Marketing Manager is responsible for developing, executing, and overseeing the strategic marketing and promotional campaigns for films produced or distributed by the company. This includes managing all advertising, publicity, digital marketing, partnerships, and audience engagement strategies to maximise visibility, ticket sales, and streaming views.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Marketing Strategy Development
- Create and implement marketing strategies tailored to each film's genre, audience, and release schedule.
- Work with creative teams to develop a unique brand identity for each film.
- Analyse market trends and competitor campaigns to position the film effectively.
2. Promotional Campaign Management
- Plan and manage promotional campaigns (pre-launch, launch, post-launch).
- Coordinate promotional tours, press junkets, interviews, premieres, and fan events.
- Secure strategic promotional partnerships (brands, influencers, media outlets).
3. Advertising Oversight
- Manage paid media (TV, radio, print, digital, OOH) campaigns.
- Collaborate with media agencies for ad placement and campaign tracking.
- Oversee trailer releases, teasers, and other audiovisual promotional content.
4. Digital & Social Media Marketing
- Oversee content strategy and execution across social media platforms.
- Work with digital marketing teams or agencies to run paid ad campaigns.
- Develop influencer marketing strategies and viral campaigns.
5. Public Relations and Media
- Coordinate with PR teams to secure media coverage and interviews.
- Organise press releases, EPKs (electronic press kits), and media kits.
- Manage crisis communication and reputation management when necessary.
6. Budget Management
- Develop and manage marketing budgets for each film.
- Track spend and ensure efficient use of resources with ROI reporting.
7. Collaboration & Coordination
- Liaise with film producers, directors, distributors, and talent managers.
- Coordinate with merchandising, licensing, and sponsorship departments.
- Ensure consistent brand messaging across all marketing channels.
8. Analytics & Reporting
- Track performance of all marketing activities (reach, engagement, sales).
- Provide regular reports on campaign effectiveness.
- Use insights to inform future film marketing strategies.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Film Studies, or related field.
- 4+ years of experience in film marketing or entertainment industry promotions.
- Strong knowledge of digital marketing platforms, trends, and analytics tools.
- Creative mindset with strong storytelling and branding skills.
- Exceptional communication, organisational, and project management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple campaigns, and meet deadlines.
