The SACCO Manager will oversee the daily operations of the SACCO and ensure effective financial and loan management. The position will report to the Kumi KOICA Project Monitoring and Evaluation Officer and work closely with the SACCO Board to ensure accountability, compliance, and operational efficiency.

Job descriptions & requirements

KACE Farmer SACCO is a savings and credit cooperative under KACE, serving members of the KACE cassava processing plant and the secondary cooperative. It aims to improve members’ access to savings and loan services to support agricultural productivity and income growth.


1. Key Points:

  • Salary: Gross monthly salary is UGX 700,000 (non-negotiable), subject to applicable statutory deductions, so applicants should be aware of this from the beginning.
  • Language requirement: Fluency in Ateso is mandatory, and the candidate must also be able to communicate in English for reporting and coordination purposes.
  • Duty station: The selected candidate must be willing to relocate and work full-time in Kumi (Nyero).
  • Contract Duration: The expected start date is 20 July 2026. The contract will run until 31 December 2026, with possible extension based on performance and organizational needs.

2. Application Procedure and Deadline:

3. Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day SACCO operations, ensuring efficient and compliant service delivery to members.
  • Supervise and support SACCO staff (cashier and loan officer), including task allocation, performance monitoring, and capacity building.
  • Establish and strengthen SACCO operational systems, including reporting, approval, documentation, and accountability structures.
  • Manage financial records, bookkeeping, cash flow, and daily/weekly reconciliation to ensure accuracy and accountability.
  • Prepare monthly financial, operational, and loan performance reports for the Board, Performance Management Officer, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Support loan appraisal, disbursement, repayment tracking, and loan recovery processes while ensuring strong internal controls and policy compliance.
  • Lead membership mobilization and business growth strategies to increase SACCO membership and savings performance.
  • Communicate effectively with SACCO members, Board members, and external partners to build trust and improve service delivery.

4. Requirements
  • Diploma in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Banking, or a related field (Bachelor’s degree is an added advantage).
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in finance, accounting, SACCO, microfinance, or banking.
  • Proven experience in financial reporting, record management, and cash handling.
  • Strong Excel and computer skills (Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word).
  • Experience in loan management, loan recovery, and member financial services is an added advantage.
  • Strong leadership, supervision, and organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • High level of integrity, accountability, and ability to handle confidential financial information.
  • Must be fluent in Ateso and English, and willing to work full-time in Nyero, Kumi District.
