HIV/AIDS Prevention Expert

Overview

SITES is seeking for a highly skilled technical consultant to serve as HIV/AIDS Prevention Expert for an upcomimg evaluation.This evaluation will provide the USAID/Uganda Office of Health and HIV with information on the implementation, performance, and achievement of intended results for the LPHS activities to inform course correction and adaptations for the remaining performance periods of the Activities. The evaluation will inform the design of future interventions and activities that will contribute to achieving and sustaining HIV epidemic control in Uganda. 

Responsibilities

The HIV/AIDS Prevention Expert will serve as a technical expert and will contribute to the inception report, data collection tools, and interviews to be conducted. The expert will also lead selected research assistants in one of the regional teams. The expert will also be responsible for the relevant analysis, synthesis, and writing of the relevant thematic sections of the report and subsequent presentations.

Qualifications

Relevant qualifications in health or social sciences at masterâs Level. Five plus yearsâ of experience in designing, implementing, or advising HIV prevention programming in Sub-Saharan Africa, preferably in Eastern or Southern Africa. Familiarity with Ugandaâs HIV prevention programming landscape. Demonstrated technical expertise in one or more areas: HTS, VMMC, DREAMS, PrEP, GBV/gender-sensitive programming, key populations programming. Good understanding of strategies and indicators to measure HIV prevention progress; PEPFAR experience and experience assessing previous HIV interventions/activities preferred.
