WE ARE HIRING | MOLECULAR DIAGNOSTIC MANAGER – REAGENT MANUFACTURING

Microhaem Scientifics & Medical Supplies Limited is seeking an experienced Molecular Diagnostic Manager to lead the end-to-end manufacturing of molecular diagnostic reagents at our production facility in Kampala, Uganda.

This is a strategic opportunity for an experienced molecular diagnostics professional with expertise in GMP, ISO 13485, production scale-up, reagent manufacturing, and team leadership to contribute to building world-class diagnostic manufacturing capacity in Africa.

Key Areas of Responsibility

• Lead daily molecular reagent production

• Drive scale-up from pilot to commercial manufacturing

• Ensure compliance with GMP, ISO 13485, SOPs and quality requirements

• Lead production teams, workforce planning, training and development

• Oversee batch records, CAPA, documentation and equipment performance

• Support method validation, verification, technology transfer and product development

• Implement contamination-control strategies and cleanroom practices

• Support QC testing for open and closed molecular systems

• Drive process optimization, reproducibility and cost efficiency

• Collaborate with R&D, QA, QC and Regulatory Affairs

We’re Looking For

✔ Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry or related field

✔ 5+ years’ hands-on experience in molecular diagnostics manufacturing

✔ 3+ years’ leadership experience supervising molecular reagent production teams

✔ Proven experience in manufacturing scale-up within GMP/ISO 13485 environments

✔ Strong expertise in PCR/qPCR, RT-PCR, DNA/RNA extraction and reagent manufacturing

✔ Experience with automated liquid handling, lyophilisation and cleanroom mixing

✔ Knowledge of IMDRF, GHTF, CLSI and WHO TGS/TSS frameworks
