We wish to recruit a Financial Management Specialist, on behalf of our client, to support outsourced CFO services, including financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, strategy, internal controls, regulatory compliance, reporting, and providing strategic insights to drive sustainable growth.

Job Description/Requirements

The Financial Management Specialist supports the delivery of outsourced CFO services to our Client’s clients. The role focuses on ensuring accurate financial reporting, timely analysis, and strong back-end processes that enable clients finance and program leads to make informed strategic decisions. The Specialist will manage day-to-day financial operations, coordinate client accountabilities, support budgeting and forecasting, and ensure compliance with internal financial controls and external reporting requirements through QuickBooks online and other online applications. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a collaborative, technology-driven accounting environment and is passionate about helping businesses grow through sound financial management.

Financial Management and Reporting

  • Prepare and analyze monthly, and annual accounts for assigned clients.
  • Support the CFO function by producing accurate financial statements, reconciliations, and schedules.
  • Maintain general ledger integrity, ensuring all transactions are recorded in compliance with client accounting policies and applicable standards.
  • Assist in the preparation of cash flow statements, forecasts, and variance analyses.


Budgeting, Forecasting, and Planning

  • Support client in developing, monitoring, and updating annual budgets and forecasts.
  • Analyze variances between actual and budgeted performance and prepare management insights and commentary.
  • Contribute to financial models and scenario planning exercises for clients.


Client Fulfilment and Back-End Support

  • Manage the fulfilment process for CFO service deliverables—reports, analyses, and dashboards ensuring deadlines and quality standards are met.
  • Coordinate with bookkeepers, accountants, and client service managers to validate inputs and outputs across the finance process.
  • Maintain documentation of financial workflows, internal controls, and audit trails for client files.
  • Support the onboarding of new clients by setting up accounting structures and reporting templates in alignment with GoodBookkeeping.com standards.


Compliance and Process Improvement

  • Support the review of state and county compliance requirements (tax filings, regulatory reports, etc.) in coordination with client accountants, CPAs or external partners.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance accuracy, efficiency, and scalability of CFO support services.
  • Participate in the periodic review of internal SOPs and contribute to the automation and standardization of financial reporting tools.

 

Qualifications and Requirements:

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 8 years of experience in financial management, accounting, or audit.
  • Experience supporting CFO services, outsourced finance teams, or multi-client accounting environments is an added advantage.
  • Professional certification (CPA, ACCA, or equivalent).


Technical Competencies

  • Strong understanding of financial statements, reconciliations, and management accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks Online.
  • Strong command of Excel (pivot tables, lookups, financial modeling).
  • Familiarity with financial dashboards and reporting tools (e.g., Fathom, Double/keeper.app, Power BI, or similar).


Soft Skills

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage multiple client deliverables simultaneously.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills with client-facing professionalism.
  • Team-oriented, proactive, and adaptable to a fast-paced, digital service environment.

 

Reporting Line:

Reports to: CFO Services Lead / Client CFO
Collaborates with: Bookkeeping and Client Success Teams

 

Work Environment:

  • Remote or hybrid setup, with regular virtual collaboration across teams.
  • Requires high standards of confidentiality and data protection.
