POSITION: FINANCE MANAGER
To provide strategic and operational financial leadership to the organization. To oversee the financial operations of the company, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of financial information, and developing and implementing effective financial strategies to meet the organization's goals and objectives.
The Finance Manager will act as a key advisor to senior leaders, providing financial analysis and support for decision-making. They will lead and develop a high-performing finance team and work closely with other departments, such as sales, marketing, and operations, to ensure that financial objectives are met.
Overall, the Finance Manager will be responsible for ensuring the financial stability and success of the company, and for providing financial insights and recommendations that support the company's long-term growth and prosperity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement financial plans, budgets, and forecasts to meet the organization's goals and objectives.
- Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of financial reporting, in compliance with accounting standards and applicable regulations.
- Manage the organization's cash and debt positions, ensuring sufficient liquidity to meet obligations and maximize returns.
- Develop and implement risk management strategies to mitigate potential financial losses, including insurance coverage and other protective measures.
- Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations and minimize tax liabilities through effective tax planning.
- Oversee the management of the organization's investments, including portfolio construction, risk management, and performance measurement.
- Implement and maintain effective internal controls to ensure the integrity of financial information and prevent fraud and misappropriation of assets.
- Partner with business unit leaders to provide financial analysis and support for business initiatives, including mergers and acquisitions, capital expenditures, and new business development.
- Oversee the management of the organization's technology systems, including financial management systems, to ensure the accuracy and reliability of financial data.
- Lead and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.
Requirements:
- First class or second upper - Bachelor of Commerce (BCOM) or Business Administration majoring in finance. Masters in Business Administration (MBA), CFA, and CPA is an advantage.
- Experience in finance and accounting, with a strong track record of financial leadership in a similar role. At least 1 year of experience at a senior management level.
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, accounting principles, tax laws and regulations, and financial analysis and modeling techniques.
- Proficiency in financial software applications and experience with technology systems used for financial management is an advantage.
- Ability to think critically and strategically, anticipating and proactively addressing financial challenges and opportunities.
- Ability to develop and implement effective financial plans that align with the organization's goals and objectives.
- Strong leader, able to build and manage a high-performing finance team and work effectively with other senior leaders across the organization.
- They should be able to communicate complex financial information in a clear and concise manner, both to internal stakeholders and external partners and investors.
- Should be known for their integrity and ethics, with a commitment to transparency and accountability in financial reporting and management.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment, adapting to new challenges and technologies as needed.
