Job Description/Requirements

Reports to: Senior Accountant

 

Chemiphar is an internationally accredited Analytical Laboratory and Inspection Company. 

We are seeking an Intern to be placed in our Finance and Administration department for an initial period of 6 months.

The successful candidate is a recent graduate (not earlier than 2020) and is a talented young person with great focus, discipline and commitment.

We are looking for a highly flexible, accountable, technically competent and a quick learner who can nurture productive working relationships and fit into the culture and core values of Chemiphar (U) Limited.

 

Specific Tasks:

  • Organize and file documents/transaction vouchers in a chronological order and supporting documentation for ease of storage and retrieval.
  • Record day to day transactions as guided by the supervisor.
  • Assist the Senior Accountant to follow up on accounts receivables. 
  • Assist in recording sales invoices and ensure a copy is filed both in soft and hard formats. 
  • Organize bills and invoices for submission to the Senior Accountant for review before they are forwarded for payment.
  • Write payments vouchers according to the proof of payment in a chronological order.
  • Follow up with URA concerning any emerging issues as requested by the supervisor.
  • Record invoices in EFRIS system. 
  • Maintain and update all records of inventories.
  • Assist the Senior Accountant to follow up on Customer queries relating to billing and any other concerns. 
  • Any other duties assigned


Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:

  • Education:  Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or equivalent


Competencies Required:

  • Practical experience in using Excel 
  • Attention to detail
  • Good communication skills: excellent writing and spelling, and speaking
  • Good numerical skills
  • Excellent organization abilities
  • Ability to handle confidential information
  • Customer care skills
  • Knowledge of QuickBooks is an asset.
