Job summary
The credit Officer should be: A person of integrity, self-driven, innovative, intelligent, result-oriented and hardworking. He/she will be required to: sell, market, appraise, disburse, collect and recover loans.
Job descriptions & requirements
- Ensure that credit creditworthiness of loan applicants is thoroughly evaluated before advancing the loan.
- Strict compliance with all collections Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and follow up effectively with clients whose loan payments are getting due so that their loans do not get into arrears
- Performs all loan collection activities early enough to prevent loans from getting into arrears.
- Monitor, maintain and update loan files as and when required
- Ensure that collateral securities are thoroughly examined and analysed before approving the loans.
- Handle customer complaints and take appropriate actions to resolve them, and forward those above him to the Management.
- Ensures that credit business is conducted in compliance with the law and the company policy.
- Negotiate payment arrangements with borrowers who have delinquent loans and arrange for the liquidation of delinquent collateral properties whose owners are non-committal
- Conduct market research to analyse and identify potential loan markets and new business opportunities, and develop referral networks to locate prospects for loans.
- Analyses customer feedback data to determine whether customers are satisfied with company products and services.
- Make reports and take up any other duty as may be assigned.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a loan officer with a reputable financial institution.
- In-depth knowledge of computers, especially MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, etc.
- At least a Diploma and/or degree in any business-related course from a recognised institution.
- Very good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Very good communication skills, both oral and written.
- Very good negotiation and decision-making skills.
- Good time manager, self-driven and motivated individual with strong organisational abilities.
- Good teamwork and collaboration abilities.
- Age: between 25– 30years
