Role Description The Car Painter is responsible for preparing and painting vehicles to a high-quality finish, following company standards and safety guidelines. Day-to-day tasks include surface preparation, masking, mixing and matching paint, applying primer and paint, and finishing with polishing or touch-ups as needed. The role also involves inspecting vehicles for paint defects, collaborating with mechanics and body repair technicians, and maintaining painting tools and equipment. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Kampala, requiring consistent attendance and adherence to workshop schedules.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in vehicle surface preparation, including sanding, filling, masking, and priming.
- Proficiency in spray painting techniques, paint mixing, color matching, and application of clear coats.
- Knowledge of automotive paint types, paint systems, and basic body repair processes.
- Understanding of workplace safety practices, use of personal protective equipment, and safe handling of chemicals.
- Attention to detail with the ability to inspect and correct paint defects and ensure consistent finishing quality.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with automotive workshop tools and equipment.
- Ability to follow work instructions, manage time effectively, and meet job deadlines.
- Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with team members and supervisors.
- Prior experience as an automotive painter or relevant vocational training is highly beneficial.
- Willingness to work on-site in wakiso temangalo and adapt to a fast-paced workshop environment.
