Role Description The Marketing Manager is a contract role based in Kampala with a hybrid work arrangement, allowing some tasks to be completed from home. This role is responsible for planning and executing marketing campaigns that promote YooKatale’s mobile food market, drive user acquisition, and increase engagement among homes and commercial clients. Day-to-day activities include developing marketing strategies, creating and reviewing content for digital channels, managing social media and online advertising, coordinating promotions with food vendors and partners, and tracking campaign performance using data and analytics. The Marketing Manager will collaborate closely with product, operations, and customer support teams to ensure messaging aligns with YooKatale’s mission and values, and will conduct market research to identify opportunities, customer trends, and competitive insights. The role also involves budget management for marketing activities, preparing performance reports, and recommending improvements to maximize reach and impact.
Qualifications
- Experience in marketing strategy, campaign planning, and brand positioning, preferably in technology, food, or marketplace platforms.
- Strong digital marketing skills, including social media management, online advertising, SEO/SEM basics, and email or mobile-based marketing.
- Proficiency in content creation and communication, such as copywriting for campaigns, basic editing, and clear written and verbal communication.
- Ability to use data and analytics tools to monitor performance, interpret metrics, and translate insights into actionable improvements.
- Demonstrated skills in stakeholder management, partnership development, and cross-functional collaboration within hybrid teams.
- Solid organizational and project management abilities, including planning, prioritizing, and delivering multiple initiatives on time.
- Familiarity with the Ugandan market and consumer behavior, with an interest in food systems, community engagement, or social impact.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Comfort working in a hybrid environment (Kampala-based with partial remote work) and adapting to evolving tools and processes.
