1. Strategic Leadership
- Develop and implement a debt collection strategy.
- Establish collection objectives and recovery standards.
- Continuously improve collection processes to maximize recoveries and operational efficiency.
2. Operational Management
- Oversee all collection activities across field and office teams.
- Ensure timely follow-up on overdue accounts.
- Ensure proper allocation and management of debtor portfolios.
- Review difficult and high-value accounts and determine appropriate recovery actions.
3. Performance Management
- Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly performance.
- Conduct regular performance reviews with the team.
- Implement corrective action plans where performance falls below expectations.
- Prepare performance reports for executive management.
4. Team Leadership
- Train, coach, and mentor collections staff.
- Build a high-performance and results-driven culture.
- Ensure Team comply with company policies, ethical standards and collection procedures.
- Manage attendance, discipline, productivity and professional conduct.
5. Reporting and Analysis
- Prepare daily, weekly and monthly recovery reports.
- Present recovery performance to senior management.
- Maintain accurate departmental records and documentation.
6. Continuous Improvement
- Recommend policy changes that strengthen recovery performance.
- Benchmark collection performance against industry best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or a related field.
Experience
- Minimum of 2 years' progressive experience in debt collections, credit management, or financial recovery.
- At least 3 years in a senior supervisory or management position.
- Demonstrated experience managing large collections teams and portfolios.
- Experience developing collection strategies and improving recovery performance.
- Relevant experience in debt collections, credit management, or financial recovery, with experience in the finance, fintech, or banking sector preferred
