DHL Global Forwarding Uganda has an opening for a Country Manager who will lead, develop and control the business and operations at the country-level to achieve short and long-term financial and operating objectives (profitability, revenue, productivity, market share) in line with division and DHL Group strategy. Requirements
- Minimum 12 years of experience in different senior management functions in a logistics company
- Broad management experience across several functional areas or businesses with success.
- People Management Skills
- Fluent in English
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Extensive Financial Knowledge
- Master’s Degree in Business Management
- You will define the divisional business strategy in the country taking vertical and/or horizontal guidelines and objectives into account.
- You will ensure effective management of business and operations at the country level.
- You will supervise sales, marketing and operations, and may have responsibility for accounting, purchasing, personnel, and / or financial functions in the country.
- You will ensure effective management and takes responsibility for the country-level P&L (EBITA etc.), cost and revenue management and controls / supervises.
- You will drive the exploration and exploitation of growth opportunities.
- You will decide difficult cases and makes sure that decisions are carried out properly, for example concerning product and market strategy, business development, investments, etc.
- You will analyze complex multi-dimensional issues extensively and improves, changes or adapts existing methods and techniques.
- You will implement modification within own authority which directly influences the way the division is operating, making money and managing people in the country.
- You will reach agreement with external parties to accept complete proposals and programs where there is little interest in cooperating or participating.
- You will negotiate critical agreements / contracts and has the mandate / authority to sign them, changing T&Cs significantly.
- You will approve all major projects including integration projects at the country level.
- You will recruit and develop the members of the country leadership team; keeps them motivated and coordinates their efforts.
- You will approve key personnel decisions for the country.
- You will generate commitment, motivation and enthusiasm for the company and division.
- You will lead and manage team; determine team structure, roles and performance targets in co-operation with functional leaders.
- You will evaluate performance and propose performance-based compensation for direct staff.
