Job Summary

The chef is responsible for preparing various menu items such as chips, chicken, pizza, burger, and katogo, according to recipe specifications to ensure high quality and standards. They must meet preparation timelines to prevent delays for the consumer, adhere to food safety and hygiene practices, and create visually appealing presentations of each meal. Additionally, the chef should maintain a clean work environment, display hospitality towards visitors and colleagues, complete food preparation tasks efficiently, assist team members when needed, and uphold respectful behavior at all times

Job Description/Requirements

Location: Entebbe – Lweza Road

Key responsibilities:

  • Food required to understand is chips, chicken, pizza, burger, katogo and other menu items.
  • Ensuring recipe specifications to make sure that all food prepared is correctly and to a high standard in line with company guidelines.
  • Timelines. The chef is required to prepare all meals within a specific time to reduce time lags and delays to the final consumer/Client.
  • Ensuring all required food processes and practices are followed at all times. Including food safety/Healthy & Safety Controls.
  • Designing the presentation of each meal. All meals should look presentable and eye catching for the client so as to be able to enjoy his/her meal.
  • Ensure cleanliness. The chef is expected to work in a high lying hygienic manner at all times. Ensuring that all food is prepared in a Safe environment. This also includes his uniform.
  • Hospitality. The Chef is expected to be hospitable, he should be cooperative and polite to any visitors and team members at all times.
  • Completion. The chef is required to complete food preparation duties as required.
  • Teamwork. The chef should be able to assist his colleagues whenever and wherever possible hence promoting excellent team work.
  • Respectful. The chef is expected to follow reasonable instruction from the management team and carrying out miscellaneous duties as required.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or formal training in Culinary Arts or Catering
  • Strong experience in food preparation and presentation
  • Knowledge of food safety and ability to work under pressure
