The Uganda Alcohol Industry Association (UAIA) is the leading industry body representing manufacturers and importers of alcoholic beverages in Uganda. We are seeking an energetic, highly

organised and strategically minded professional to serve as Association Manager and coordinate

implementation of the Association’s advocacy, stakeholder engagement, communications and

governance agenda.


The Association Manager will report to the Chairperson of UAIA and work closely with the Executive

Committee and member companies. The role will also build effective relationships with government,

UMA, PSFU and other trade associations to advance UAIA’s agreed priorities.


Key responsibilities

• Coordinate UAIA’s annual workplan, policy agenda, stakeholder engagement and regular progress

reporting.

• Monitor policy and regulatory developments and coordinate member input into briefs, submissions, correspondence and engagement plans.

• Organise AGMs, Executive Committee meetings, member forums, technical sessions and other ad hoc meetings, including notices, agendas, papers, logistics and quorum requirements.

• Prepare accurate minutes, maintain decision and action trackers and follow up with owners to ensure

agreed actions are completed.

• Act as the link between members, maintain the membership database and ensure members receive

regular updates and opportunities to engage.

• Issue and track membership fee requests, follow up outstanding dues professionally and support

annual budgeting, expenditure tracking and financial administration.

• Act as custodian of UAIA’s website, digital records and mailing lists and support implementation of

approved communications and stakeholder engagement plans, including messaging on industry

priorities.

• Prepare periodic reports on policy priorities, stakeholder engagements, membership, finances, risks

and decisions required.

• Liaise with UMA, PSFU, government institutions and other trade associations to advance UAIA’s

approved agenda.

• Maintain complete, secure and well -organised governance, policy, membership, financial and

administrative records.


Reporting and employment conditions

This is a full -time contract position based in Kampala, with occasional travel within Uganda. The

contract duration will be confirmed with shortlisted candidates. A competitive remuneration package

will be offered commensurate with qualifications and experience.


What success looks like

• Timely delivery of the approved annual workplan and agreed policy priorities.

• Effective stakeholder engagement and follow -up against agreed priorities.

• 100% compliance with UAIA’s agreed governance requirements.

• Timely circulation of meeting notices, papers, decision -focused minutes and action trackers.

• Improved member participation and satisfaction, supported by regular engagement and follow -

through.

• Timely invoicing, follow -up and collection of membership dues against the approved target.


What we are looking for

• A relevant bachelor’s degree in public policy, law, economics, business administration,

communications, development studies or any related field.

• At least 3 to 5 years’ relevant experience in association management, corporate affairs, public policy,

stakeholder engagement, programme management or a related field.

• Demonstrated experience preparing policy briefs, consultation responses, position papers,

executive reports and high-quality minutes.

• Demonstrated ability to coordinate diverse stakeholders, engage senior business and government

leaders and build consensus around shared priorities.

• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office or equivalent tools and confidence managing digital

content and virtual meetings.

-Strong project management and execution skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and

deadlines simultaneously, supported by integrity, sound judgement and discretion.
