Job Summary
The Assembly Technician is responsible for assembling Signalytic’s S+ systems according to internal build guides and quality standards. This role involves hands-on work with tools, electronics, and hardware components, and contributes directly to the production of reliable, field-ready units. The technician works under the supervision of the Lead Assembly Technician and participates in routine quality checks and process improvements.

Job Description/Requirements
Reports To: Lead Assembly Technician
Location: Kampala, Uganda
Key Responsibilities
Assembly
● Assemble S+ hardware systems based on instructions and evolving SOPs
● Perform electrical wiring, mounting, and mechanical assembly of components
● Follow step-by-step build procedures and work orders in Odoo
Inventory & Materials Handling
● Request necessary parts from the inventory team for assigned work
● Ensure materials are used efficiently and responsibly
● Return unused components or faulty parts for inspection
Quality & Safety
● Conduct basic quality checks during and after assembly
● Report any assembly errors, missing components, or process issues to the Lead Assembly Technician
● Follow safety protocols at all times on the production floor
Required Qualifications & Skills
● Certificate or diploma in electrical, mechanical, or related technical field
● Prior hands-on experience with tools and electronics assembly
● Attention to detail and ability to follow technical instructions
● Willingness to work as part of a team and take feedback constructively
Preferred Experience
● Experience in solar, telecom, or electronics manufacturing
● Exposure to quality control processes or SOP documentation
Tools & Systems
● Odoo (work orders)
● Hand tools, wiring equipment, multimeters
● Excel / Google Sheets (basic familiarity)
