About The Affiliated Organization
TERREWODE was founded to improve the quality of life of women and girls by addressing reproductive health challenges, with a particular focus on ending obstetric fistula through prevention and treatment of obstetric fistula, maternal health, and women's empowerment. The establishment of her subsidiary Terrewode Women's Community Hospital expanded this mission by providing specialized, accessible, and holistic healthcare services to women. The organization primarily serves women and girls across Uganda and East Africa, particularly those affected by obstetric fistula and other reproductive health conditions especially those from underserved communities. We help them through the provision of specialized medical care, including obstetric fistula repair surgery, physiotherapy, counseling, rehabilitation, and community outreach.
The organization also promotes prevention through health education, community awareness, training of healthcare workers, and advocacy to improve access to quality maternal healthcare. Our work restores the health, dignity, and hope of women affected by reproductive health conditions. By providing quality healthcare and empowering women to reintegrate into their families and communities, we contribute to healthier families, stronger communities, and improved health outcomes across Uganda.
