Job Summary:
The Student Progressions Coordinator supports students through the University application process and helps facilitate internship placements and job connections for both students and graduates. This role ensures that students have the necessary guidance and resources to transition successfully from secondary education to higher education and into the workforce.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. University Application Support:
• Guide students during the university application process, ensuring deadlines are met and all necessary documentation is submitted.
• Communicate with universities and manage the coordination of student admissions and scholarship opportunities.
2. Internship and Job Placement Support:
• Support the placement of students in internships with partner organizations and provide guidance during their job search process.
• Facilitate networking opportunities for students to connect with potential employers.
3. Graduate Career Support:
• Organize career fairs, professional workshops, and networking events to assist graduates in finding employment opportunities.
4. Event and Program Coordination:
• Coordinate and assist in the organization of career fairs, networking events, and workshops to increase opportunities for students and graduates.
5. Perform any other official duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications and Competencies
• Bachelor’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Business or a related field.
• Experience working with youth and young adults in educational, career development or community engagement settings.
• Knowledge of tertiary education systems, application processes, and scholarship opportunities.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with diverse stakeholders.
• Organizational skills and attention to detail, particularly for managing multiple students’ transitions simultaneously.
• Must be a committed Christian who is in full agreement with the Statement of Faith of Amazima Ministries International.
• Professional and personal references must demonstrate observed manifestation of godly character and spiritual maturity.
