Position Overview
The Kindergarten Teacher supports the overall development of young learners by providing high-quality instruction, fostering a positive classroom environment, and partnering with families to ensure student success. This role focuses on nurturing curiosity, building foundational skills, and promoting social-emotional growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate lessons that support literacy, numeracy, social-emotional skills, and creative expression
- Create a warm, inclusive, and structured classroom environment where every child feels safe, valued, and motivated to learn.
- Observe, assess, and document student progress; adjust instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Establish routines and classroom management strategies that promote positive behaviour and independence.
- Communicate regularly with parents and caregivers regarding student development, achievements, and any concerns.
- Collaborate with fellow teachers and administrators to support school initiatives, curriculum planning, and program goals.
- Prepare materials, organise classroom resources, and maintain a clean, engaging learning space.
- Participate in professional development, team meetings, and school events.
