The ideal candidate is an independent and proactive professional with strong technical understanding of food ingredients and hands-on exposure to the food processing industry, capable of identifying market needs, supporting customers with technical solutions, and achieving sustainable sales growth.

Responsibilities

  • Submit regular sales, pipeline, and business development reports to management.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a structured Food Ingredients business plan for the assigned territory.
  • Implement effective credit control and collection practices to minimize bad debts and improve receivables turnover.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in sales and business development within food ingredients, specialty chemicals, or chemical distribution.
  • Strong understanding of food applications and ingredient functionality across key food segments.
  • Excellent analytical, planning, follow-up, and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities with a customer-focused mindset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (knowledge of local or regional languages is an advantage).
  • Willingness to travel within Uganda and the East Africa region, and internationally when required.
  • A proactive, self-motivated professional with a strong drive for continuous learning and self-development.
