Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial/Mechanical Engineering or any relevant discipline in Engineering.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role in a busy environment.
Key Requirements:
- At least 5 years hands-on in the Food Industry. Confectionary plant is a distinct advantage.
- Familiar with hard, soft candies production, lollipop and bubble gum.
- Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service
- Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
- Ensures that supervisors and operators are doing their job properly.
- Coordinates with line supervisor and make sure the plant is running smoothly.
- Discusses with supervisors and operators to maintain high standards in the plant.
- Ensures that online inspectors and helpers are in their respective positions.
- Checks that all machines are running in good condition.
- Conducts repairs if there is any problem in production line machine.
- Organizes workflow by assigning responsibilities, preparing schedules and outlining duties
- Monitors the work of employees, provides feedback and performs coaching and mentoring to achieve all production targets.
- Ensures safe use of equipment and schedules regular maintenance to increase efficiency of plant.
- Checks to ensure that production output is in accordance to determined quality specifications in a profitable manner.
- Prepares and submits production reports on individual and overall performance
- Revises procedures, identifies issues in efficiency and suggests ways of improvement
