Lead WMS / Supply Chain Systems Consultant

Humanitarians at Law (HAL) is seeking an experienced Lead WMS / Supply Chain Systems Consultant to join a technical team for a proposed Warehouse Management System (WMS) implementation project in Uganda.

The assignment is for a humanitarian organisation and will involve the design, configuration, implementation, integration and operationalisation of a WMS to strengthen end-to-end inventory and warehouse management.

Key Responsibilities

The Lead Consultant will be responsible for providing technical leadership across the assignment, including:

• Leading the assessment and mapping of existing warehouse and inventory management processes.
• Supporting the design and configuration of an appropriate WMS solution.
• Overseeing integration of the WMS with existing ERP systems.
• Supporting data migration, cleaning, validation and system cutover.
• Ensuring appropriate workflows, user roles, approval processes and segregation of duties are incorporated into the system.
• Supporting system testing, deployment and troubleshooting.
• Providing technical guidance during user training and system rollout.
• Supporting the development of implementation documentation, functional specifications and user materials.
• Providing technical oversight during the post-launch/hypercare period.
• Working closely with the wider technical team and client stakeholders throughout implementation.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics or a related field.
• Minimum 7 years of professional experience implementing Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) in Uganda.
• Demonstrated experience delivering end-to-end WMS implementation projects.
• Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory management and supply-chain processes.
• Demonstrated experience in systems configuration, business process mapping and workflow design.
• Experience integrating WMS solutions with ERP systems, preferably Microsoft Dynamics.
• Experience with data migration, system testing, deployment and user training.
• Experience developing inventory reports, dashboards and audit trails.
• Strong understanding of user access controls and segregation of duties.
• Excellent project coordination, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Experience working with humanitarian organisations, NGOs or other complex operational environments is an advantage.

Evidence of Experience

Applicants should be able to demonstrate previous relevant assignments and provide professional references. Experience should preferably include projects involving WMS implementation and ERP integration in Uganda.
