Engineer - FTTH Operations

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunication / Electrical Engineering or any other relevant degree.
Work Experience
A minimum two (2) years’ experience in a similar role
Develop and implement standardized handover process defining acceptance criteria, documentation requirements, and sign-off procedures for all FTTH installations.
Conduct site acceptance testing and quality inspections of fiber splicing, enclosures, cable routing, and labelling before accepting contractor handovers.
Monitor and optimize FTTH network performance through continuous metrics analysis, proactive fault detection, and corrective measures.
Manage fault resolution including troubleshooting complaints, dispatching field teams, and ensuring timely service restoration within SLA targets.
Conduct regular audits of fiber infrastructure to identify poor installations, unauthorized modifications, or documentation gaps and document remedial actions.
Coordinate with contractors ensuring adherence to installation standards through technical guidance, method statement reviews, and site supervision.
Establish quality control checkpoints at all FTTH deployment stages including pre-installation surveys, construction inspections, and post-activation verification.
Implement corrective action processes for poor quality work, tracking defects and holding contractors accountable through contractual mechanisms.
Coordinate preventive maintenance activities including connector cleaning, enclosure inspections, splice verification, and documentation updates.
Generate regular operational reports on network performance, fault statistics, quality metrics, handover status, and improvement initiatives.
Develop standard operating procedures for all FTTH operational activities ensuring consistency, quality, and compliance with technical standards
