To provide strategic leadership and oversight for all technology, innovation, and digital transformation initiatives within the FinTech organization. The CTO drives the development, implementation, governance, and optimization of technology solutions that support business growth, compliance, operational efficiency, and competitive advantage.

- Oversee design, development, deployment, and maintenance of core FinTech products (e.g., payment systems, mobile money platforms, digital lending, wallets).
- Ensure high system availability, performance, security, and scalability.
- Lead software engineering, devOps, cybersecurity, data analytics, and IT support teams.
- Champion use of modern architectures (APIs, microservices, cloud platforms, AI/ML).
- Work closely with business units to translate business needs into effective technical solutions.
- Participate in product roadmap planning, customer research, and user experience design.
- Drive innovation for new revenue streams, partnerships, and digital products.
- Ensure full compliance with industry regulations (e.g., central bank directives, data protection laws, AML/KYC standards).
- Liaise with regulators and certification bodies (e.g., PCI-DSS, ISO 27001).
- Implement risk management frameworks, secure coding practices, and data privacy controls.
- Establish IT governance frameworks, policies, and standard operating procedures.
- Lead enterprise architecture, disaster recovery planning, and business continuity strategy.
- Oversee technology audits, compliance checks, and cybersecurity assessments.
- Build and mentor high-performing technology teams.
- Drive a culture of innovation, agility, accountability, and continuous learning.
- Manage recruitment, skills development, and performance of technical staff.
- Work with external partners (banks, telecoms, payment processors, regulators, vendors).
- Negotiate technology contracts, licensing agreements, and vendor SLAs.
- Represent the company in industry forums and innovation networks.
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
- Additional qualifications in Business Administration, Digital Transformation, or Innovation Management are an added advantage.
- (Preferred) CISSP, CISM, CISA, CEH, ISO 27001 Lead Implementer.
- (Preferred) AWS/Azure Cloud Certifications.
- (Optional) PMP, PRINCE2, Scrum Master/Agile Certifications.
- Minimum 3–10 years in ICT/technology roles, with at least 3 years in senior leadership.
- Proven experience in the FinTech, banking, payments, or digital financial services sectors.
- Track record in designing and scaling large financial or payment systems.
- Experience in innovation management and launching new digital products.
- Strong background in IT governance, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance.
- Software architecture and engineering leadership.
- Core FinTech technologies (payments, APIs, digital wallets, mobile money).
- Cloud infrastructure management (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Cybersecurity and data protection frameworks.
- AI/ML, data analytics, automation.
- Strategic planning and business acumen.
- Understanding of financial services operations.
- Product development and lifecycle management.
- Budgeting, financial planning, and cost optimization.
- Deep understanding of FinTech regulation, licensing, compliance, AML/KYC.
- Experience working with regulators and audit bodies.
- Knowledge of data privacy (GDPR, local data protection laws).
- IT governance frameworks (COBIT, ITIL).
- Risk management, vendor management, and compliance oversight.
