Job summary
The Business Development Officer will support the Company’s sales and growth efforts by identifying potential clients, promoting products and services, assisting in sales activities, and maintaining positive customer relationships. The role focuses on market outreach, customer engagement, and achieving assigned sales targets within Lira town and the surrounding areas.
Job descriptions & requirements
- Identify opportunities and lead high-level negotiations to close strategic deals in the market while cross-selling, up-selling company products.
- Identify and approach potential customers to promote the Company’s products and services.
- Support sales activities including prospecting, follow-ups, and customer visits.
- Assist in achieving individual and team sales targets on a monthly basis.
- Maintain a visible presence in the local market to support sales activations and marketing initiatives.
- Prepare simple daily and weekly sales activity reports for submission to the supervisor.
- Attend sales meetings and training sessions as required.
- Respond to customer inquiries and direct complaints to the appropriate department for resolution.
- Build and maintain good working relationships with clients and internal teams.
- Ensure proper use of sales materials and adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor from time to time.
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related field from a recognized institution.
- Basic training or exposure in sales and marketing will be an added advantage.
- Marketing and Sales qualifications would be an added advantage.
- Experience in working in the Construction and Real Estate would be an added advantage.
- Knowledge of MS Office tools (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
- Understanding of Bank products, services, and knowledge of banking.
- Proactive and quick response to customers' and employees’ queries while building strong business relationships.
- Good interpersonal skills, reporting skills, analytical skills, and negotiation skills.
- Fluent in the English Language and any other local language, preferably Luo, particularly for explanatory purposes to company clients who do not understand the English Language.
