Job summary
Our client, an audit and accounting firm that provides first-class professional services of audit and assurance, risk management, tax advisory, financial consultancy, payroll management, recruitment services and business advisory is looking for an accountant to undertake all roles related to accounting at our clients’ premises.
Job descriptions & requirements
- Manage all accounting operations based on accounting principles;
- Receive all bills from the company suppliers; and
- Issue and record all invoices, payments, and receipts into accounting systems;
- Managing receivables and ensuring payments from clients are fast tracked;
- Preparation of management accounts including statement of comprehensive income, statement of financial position, statement of changes in equity, cash flow statements;
- Preparation of annual accounts including the above and to be presented within the period of three months after the end of a financial year and 15 days after end of month;
- Preparation and submission of all tax returns before 31 st December each year for income tax and before 15 th every of VAT, PAYE and other tax returns;
- Compiling and presenting of financial reports, budgets, business plans, commentaries, and financial statements;
- Filing of NSSF returns on every 15 th of every month;
- Posting of vouchers for the daily transactions;
- Reconciliation of bank statements on a monthly basis;
- Bachelors’ degree in accounting or any related field.
- Professional certifications .e.g. CPA or ACCA level 1 preferred.
- Relevant work experience of 1 year in accounting or finance.
- Proficiency in accounting software and systems .e.g. QuickBooks and tally.
- Understanding financial laws, regulations and standards.
- Ability to analyze financial data and resolve issues.
- Effective communication of financial information.
