1. Your CV is outdated and irrelevant

The first thing you need to do is to update your CV. Make sure you keep it updated every month at the least.

Your CV needs to be relevant and current for the job that you are applying for, otherwise, it will not help at all. This is a problem many people have.

2. Your Account is not Completed to 100%

If you have not added all the skills, experience and education in your profile to 100%, then it makes it difficult for us to find the right job for you.

If you have not added your photo, then we cannot see how handsome or beautiful you are. If you have not added your location, then we cannot know where to send you jobs that are close to where you live or work.

If you do not add your phone number or email address, then no one can call or email when they get back from their vacation around the world looking for people like YOU!

3. You’re sending the same Cover letter to every Job advert

You’ll never get hired if you send out the same generic cover letter to every company on BrighterMonday Uganda.  Make sure you customize your cover letter and message for each job that catches your eye!

4. You Don’t Understand the work That You Are Applying For

Read the Job description, read that again!

Before you apply for any job, make sure that you understand what the job is all about.

Understanding the work you are applying for will give you an advantage over other applicants who do not have such knowledge.

This will help you be able to answer questions during interviews and demonstrate your competence in your field of expertise.

This will make it easy for employers to hire you if they see that you are knowledgeable about what they do and how it works.

5. You Don’t Understand what the employer is looking for

If you are applying for a job and you’re  not getting a call back, then you might be doing something wrong.

It could be that you are not specific about the job you are applying for. You need to know what they want and show them how you meet their requirements.

For example: if they ask for 1 year experience but all your experience is 2 years plus and above, then don’t apply because they will choose someone with less experience who meets their requirement 100% instead of someone with more experience who doesn’t meet all the requirements as well as person B does.

6. Address some of these key issues and you might score yourself the job.

Have you ever noticed that most of your friends have jobs, but you don’t? There’s a good chance it’s because they know how to follow instructions we have stated.

Plus they know how to optimize their CV’s for every job they apply for.

Your CV is the first thing a potential employer will see and it is important to keep it up-to-date. Don’t forget about your profile either.

Make sure that all the information on your profile is relevant and complete!

If you want to get hired on BrighterMonday Uganda website, then make sure that:

  • Your CV is up-to-date and contains all recent work experience as well as education details (including dates).
  • Your profile includes all social media accounts where employers can find you better than just having an email address or phone number in case they need more contact details after reading through your CV/cover letter etcetera

Conclusion

Now, you know the secret to getting a job on BrighterMonday Uganda and other sites. Don’t forget to share this article with your friends on Facebook and Twitter!
