Job Summary: The Engineering and Design Manager will support
the USAID Project in developing new
business in Uganda. The Engineering and Design Manager will work closely with
the Lead Engineer/Chief of Party(COP), USAID, design staff, and subcontractors
to ensure that projects are completed on time, to budget, and with appropriate
technical rigor on the USAID/Uganda Mission contract.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
- The ideal candidate for the USAID Engineering & Design Manager career opportunity should hold a Bachelors degree or higher in civil engineering
- Significant experience in the management of multiple infrastructure design packages for projects including health centers, buildings, roads, bridges, and other relevant infrastructure
- Previous exposure and experience in managing the design process and be in charge of multi-discipline designers
- Prior experience as a lead designer is required
- Possess excellent written and verbal English language skills
- Strong leadership experience in human resources management and the ability to work in cross-cultural settings.
