Trainer (Instructor)

INSTRUCTORS (TRAINERS) NEEDED FOR THE FOLLOWING COURSES

• Blocklaying and Concrete Practice (BCP)
• Garment Design and Construction (GDC)/ Tailoring
• Carpentry and Joinery (CJ)
• Motorcycle Mechanics (MCM)

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

A. INSTRUCTING

• Participate in the mobilization and recruitment of students
  
• Prepare schemes of work and lesson plans
  
• Organize training tools, materials, and resources
  
• Carry out teaching and training activities according to the procedures
  
• Use training materials according to procedures
  
• Access and evaluate students continuously
  
• Maintain student discipline
  
• Participate in the guidance and counseling of students
  
• Oversee student class leadership
  
• Provide feedback on lessons and activities
  
• Maintain students’ attendance records
  
• Ensure that safety precautions are observed during training activities
  
• Maintain a clean classroom and surroundings
  
• Carry out data collection/ documentation as required
  
• Prepare reports as required
  
• Ensure supplies and materials are adequate

B. INVENTORY & ASSET MANAGEMENT

• Ensure all equipment is in proper working condition
  
• Carry out maintenance of training equipment
  
• Report any faults in the equipment to be fixed promptly
  
• Do checks to verify that classroom assets and inventory remain at the location
  
• Monitor all inventory levels at the location
  
• Create order requests to reorder supplies as needed

REQUIREMENTS

• National Certificate in a related field from a recognized institution  OR Advanced Craft Certificate in a related field
  
• Certificate in Technical Teacher Education(CTTE)
  
• Minimum 2 years of teaching and  industrial experience
  
• Must be registered as a teacher/instructor with the Ministry of Education and Sports
  
• Experienced with vocational-related curriculum development
  
• Have excellent training and interpersonal, and communication skills.
  
• Experience working with vulnerable youth
  
• A keen eye for detail and quality control
  
• Agree with the Christian mission, values, and objectives of Ignite Change
  
• Passionate about helping vulnerable groups of people
  
• Must be effective in written and verbal communication in English
  
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  
• Ability to complete tasks efficiently and in a timely manner, with minimal or no prompting
  
• Flexible to adapt to the ever-changing environment of a growing organization
  
• Self-motivated and innovative
