Senior Medical Research Officer

Manage commissioning and grant management processes to support the delivery and dissemination of research, maintain research documentation, and monitor adherence to protocols.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Support the design, delivery, and management of research projects by working closely with lead researchers.
  

• Work as a team member to design and continuously improve high-quality processes for research.
  

• Disseminate research findings to internal and external stakeholders.
  

• Support the development and delivery of research programs, including developing timelines, tracking milestones, and monitoring budgets.
  

• Gather inputs from across the team and the wider research community.
  

• Identify risks and propose mitigation measures in research projects.
  

• Work with communications teams to promote smooth flow of research information.
  

• Participate in developing application and selection materials and processes for grant/award holders.
  

• Manage selection and assessment panels to recruit high-quality award holders and research providers.
  

• Organize advisory group meetings, including logistics, preparation of supporting documentation, and taking minutes.
  

• Organize events, seminars, and training sessions.
  

• Manage data in organization-wide research databases.
  

• Identify areas for improvement in knowledge and information systems.
  

Person/Job Specifications:

• MB.Ch.B. or equivalent degree.
  

• Master’s Degree in a health sciences discipline.
  

• Post-graduate training in project planning and management or a relevant discipline is an added advantage.
  

Experience:

• Minimum of six (6) years of experience in clinical research management.
