Required Qualifications
- An Honor’s Bachelor of Laws Degree;
- A Diploma in Legal Practice (LDC);
- Enrolled as an Advocate of the High Court of Uganda with a valid practicing certificate;
- A Master of Laws Degree from a recognized institution will be an added advantage.
- Minimum of 3 years relevant working experience at the rank of Legal Officer in a Law firm or legal unit of a reputable organization in the areas of intellectual property and criminal law.
Supervise junior legal officers and other staff providing legal support work;
Participate in planning, organizing and preparing the work programme;
Represent the university in all legal matters;
Participate in the management of the activities within the Department by providing technical guidance;
Prepare and /or review legal opinions;
Participate in the review of legal/court documents for completeness and accuracy;
Participate in court case preparation work and prepare draft pleadings for filing;
Conduct research and analyse legal matters pertinent to the university;
Participate in the review of existing rules and regulations;
Perform any other related duties assigned by the supervisor.
