Role Description The Senior Finance Manager is a part-time role based in Mbarara with a hybrid work arrangement, combining on-site presence with some work-from-home flexibility. This role oversees financial planning and analysis, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and cash-flow management to support informed business decisions. Day-to-day responsibilities include supervising the preparation of financial statements, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations, monitoring internal controls, and improving financial processes. The Senior Finance Manager will provide strategic guidance to leadership on cost optimization, revenue growth opportunities, and risk management, while supporting audits and coordinating with external partners such as banks and advisors. The role also involves mentoring finance team members, implementing best practices in financial reporting, and contributing to long-term financial strategy and performance measurement.
Qualifications

  • Demonstrated expertise in financial planning and analysis, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance reporting.
  • Strong skills in financial reporting, accounting principles, and compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
  • Experience in cash-flow management, cost control, and financial risk assessment to support strategic decision-making.
  • Proficiency in using finance and accounting software, spreadsheets, and data analysis tools to generate clear insights.
  • Ability to design and strengthen internal controls, streamline financial processes, and support audit activities.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities, including presenting financial information to non-finance audiences.
  • Proven experience leading or mentoring finance teams and collaborating effectively across departments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CFA) are an advantage.
  • Relevant experience in a senior finance role, preferably within technology, communications, or service-oriented organizations.
