Job Description The Savings Manager is responsible for developing strategy for integrating alternative delivery channels including POs, mobile banking and other potentially relevant technologies into savings mobilization and ensuring that both initiatives are aligned from sound business practices. As a business leader, She/He is responsible for leading his/her team of Area Savings Managers and Savings representatives to deliver a superior customer experience across all FINCA branches and ensure that the deposit business of FINCA Uganda is enhanced.Key duties and responsibilities:• Directing savings, forecasting activities and setting performance goals accordingly.• Reviewing market analyses to determine customer needs, price schedules, and discount rates.• Working with branch and other functional managers to provide strategic direction and oversight of the savings initiative, suggesting and recommending corrective action as needed to the management board and driving implementation of approved corrective actions• Directing staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control savings program.• Directing channel development activity and coordinating savings distribution by establishing savings territories, quotas, and goals.• Directing product simplification and standardization to eliminate unprofitable items from savings line.• Representing FINCA Uganda at various stakeholder meetings to promote products.• Delivering savings presentations to key clients in coordination with savings and sales representatives.• Meeting with key clients, assisting savings representatives with maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals.• Coordinating liaison between savings department and other business related units and educating FINCA employees on Savings to enable them understand Savings and Customer Service to all FINCA Uganda clients.• Assisting other departments within organization to prepare manuals and technical publications.• Preparing periodic savings report showing saving volume and areas of proposed client base expansion.• Directing product research and development.• Establishing the Savings Guideline and Strategy of the FINCA Uganda in line with the Savings policy• Designing and proposing the annually Business Plan for Savings in FINCA Uganda and following up its implementation• Defining and monitoring the monthly/annually targets by branches and individuals (front office staff)• Creating the institution structure to support Savings Business in all the levels from Head Office to branches, and implementing accordingly• Designing and developing the Savings Products according to the market trends and policy• Coordinating and maintaining all relationships with Donors and FINCA International related to Savings issuesCompetencies To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:• Hands on experience in Sales mobilization with ability to mobilize savings and grow portfolio• Excellent Leadership and people management skills• Excellent training and coaching skills• Good communication and presentation skills• High Integrity/Ethics• Should be self motivated, Innovative and result oriented• Excellent knowledge in product development• Ability to develop and implement business strategy in a fast paced and changing environment.• Have excellent sales skills and can clearly demonstrate success in sales activities.• Has the ability to connect with both Micro finance and Corporate banking clientele. Qualifications and Experience• Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing or any other business related field. An MBA is desirable.• 5years’ experience in retail banking operations. 2 of which with senior management exposure
