Salary band: 2,800,000 – 2,900,000 Gross
Duty Station: Gayaza Head office - with regular travel to operational districts.
Purpose/Job Summary
Our client provides residential training in sustainable organic farming techniques for young people and ensures that each person gains at least two vocational skills to take back to their rural communities. Workaid UK provides the tools and equipment to the organization for their vocational training programmes and that of their partners.
Working for the organization and supported by Work Aid in the UK, the successful candidate will carry out formal project assessments of potential vocational training organizations for support with tools and equipment. The role will work closely with staff and be a link between the organization and Workaid UK.

Key Responsibilities.
Monitoring and Evaluation
- Coordinate visits with the Director to carry out formal assessments with projects for potential support.
- Develop an M&E system with the staff to measure the impact of the vocational training programmes that the organization and its partners are providing. This will also include individuals who complete their training with the organization and are provided with tools to establish their own businesses.
- Support each organization with the tools required to implement their vocational training programmes and starter kits to enable groups of graduates from each organization to establish their own businesses.
- Carry out reviews with existing partner projects of their sewing and knitting machines and power tools and liaise with the organization and Work aid UK for repairs and maintenance.
Project Assessments
- To visit the organization partners on the ground who provide vocational training and carry out an assessment of their programmes, operational capacity, and registration status (in relation to vocational training).
- Assess attendance rates at each organization, graduation rates, qualifications gained, and data on those who have graduated.
- Assess the success story from the baseline and how their lives have changed (we are particularly interested in capturing data on how people’s lives have changed since completing training and case studies)
Other Responsibilities
Work in alignment with the aims, objectives, and core values of the organization and Undertake any duties or tasks deemed necessary for the successful running of the organization as determined by the Country Director.

28 years and above
Attainment
Degree or postgraduate diploma in monitoring and evaluation
Previous experience working for an international or Ugandan sustainable development NGO
Project management & Budgeting skills
A thorough understanding of M&E and its role in informing strategic development and organizational focus
Strong IT skills and in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Access) and data management
Experience in finance and business management
General Intelligence:
A strong understanding of assessing the credibility and viability of support.
An understanding of the partnership with the organization and Work Aid UK and vocational skills training and development
Special Aptitude:
Excellent analytical, written, oral communication, and digital skills (English Essential)
Strong organizational & administrative skills, attention to detail, and Ability to take the initiative.
