Main Purpose of the Job:
The Team LeaderTraining & Capacity Development is responsible for the quality of training in the project and will coordinate training functions in TAFProject.
Key Outputs:
• Training materials and curricula responsive TAF Project activities designed
• Database of trainers for different competency areas developed and maintained
• Database of trainees developed and maintained
• Capacity development activities coordinated and supervised
• TAF Project capacity development activities identified and planned
• Capacity development officers Supervised and appraised
• Capacity development workplans/budget managed and developed.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
• Design and coordinate development of training materials and curricula responsive TAF Project activities;
• Develop and manage a database of trainers for different competency areas within the project; Coordinate and supervise capacity development activities related to TAF Project;
• Provide technical assistance on training, mentorship and coaching for different competency areas within the project;
• Liase with other project team leaders to identify and plan TAF Project capacity development activities;
• Participate in the development and design of the HIV and AIDS National policy guidelines, curricula and training materials;
• Make progress, quarterly and annual reports for both donors and institutional capacity assessment and progress;
• Develop and continually up-date guidelines and procedures for capacity development in TAF project;
• Participate in the provision of training and technical support to service delivery units on issues of adherence to the policies and guide lines relating to project work;
• Develop and manage workplans/budget for the capacity development section; Supervise and appraise the capacity development officers;
• Participate in the documentation of TAF best practices for publication;
• Promote Ethics and Integrity / Create Organizational precedents; Build and promote effective teams; Create and promote an enabling environment for open communication; Create an emotionally intelligent organization.
• Any other duties as may be assigned by the immediate supervisor
PERSON SPECIFICATIONS: PTA- TCD
• Master’s Degree or higher qualification in any of the following disciplines; Education, Public Health, Social sciences, Community development, Economics, and Development studies.
Additional Training Necessary
• Broad knowledge and understanding of the national and regional HIV situation
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work as part of a team and in partnership with other stakeholders
Minimum Experience and Exposure:
• Six (6) years’ experience in training and capacity development
• Special Knowledge: Knowledge of audit procedures, including planning, techniques, test and sampling methods involved in conducting audits; Knowledge of computerized accounting and auditing record keeping systems; Programme Management Audit and Reporting knowledge; Donor accountability requirements
