Physics & Maths Teacher (UCE + UACE)
Job descriptions & requirements
Lead Physics and Maths from S1 through to UACE in one of Uganda’s most established boarding schools. The role suits a graduate teacher with a proven track record in sciences and a willingness to live on or near campus.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver Physics and Maths lessons across S1–S6, with primary responsibility for the UACE cohort.
- Set, mark and analyse termly continuous assessments and mock examinations.
- Mentor a class of S3 boys as their year-group tutor, including the weekly tutorial slot.
- Run the after-school Physics Club one afternoon per week, plus weekend revision in Term 3.
- Contribute to subject-area planning under the Head of Sciences and represent the department at parent-teacher meetings.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Science Education, Physics, or a closely related field.
- Minimum three years post-qualification teaching experience at A-Level.
- Registered (or eligible to register) with the Ministry of Education and Sports as a graduate teacher.
- Strong UNEB candidate-results track record on file.
- Willingness to live in or commute daily to Kisubi.
Nice to have
- Cambridge IGCSE experience or familiarity with the Cambridge A-Level syllabus.
- Boarding-school experience (residential duty rotations).
- Coaching experience in a sport offered at the school.
