Job Summary
As a Patient Financial Services Specialist at Reveloop, you will play a key role in ensuring smooth and efficient financial interactions between our clients, patients, and insurance companies. Your exceptional communication skills, compassion, and attention to detail will contribute to the financial well-being of our clients and a positive patient experience. This position requires a deep understanding of revenue cycle management practices, excellent customer service abilities, and proficiency in handling financial aspects of patient accounts.
Responsibilities
– Provide exceptional customer service to patients, addressing inquiries related to insurance coverage, billing statements, payment plans, and financial assistance programs.
– Verify and update patient demographic and insurance information accurately in billing systems or electronic health records (EHR) platforms.
– Calculate and communicate patient financial responsibilities, including co-pays, deductibles, and co-insurance, based on verified insurance benefits and coverage.
– Assist patients in understanding insurance explanations of benefits (EOBs), billing statements, and payment options.
– Collaborate with insurance companies and payers to resolve claim-related issues and ensure accurate and timely processing of patient claims.
– Review patient accounts for outstanding balances, follow up on overdue payments, and establish payment arrangements when necessary.
– Educate patients on available financial assistance programs, eligibility criteria, and application processes.
– Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of patient interactions, financial agreements, and payment arrangements in internal systems.
– Collaborate with internal teams to resolve complex patient billing inquiries and escalate issues to appropriate departments as needed.
– Stay updated on healthcare regulations, insurance industry changes, and best practices related to patient financial services.
Requirements

• Bachelor degree required
  

– Proficiency in using medical billing software, electronic health records (EHR) platforms, and patient accounting systems.
– Strong knowledge of behavioral health coding and billing guidelines (e.g., CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10) and their impact on patient financial responsibilities.
– Familiarity with insurance payers’ billing requirements, claim submission guidelines, and reimbursement processes.
– Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and empathetically with patients from diverse backgrounds.
– Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
– Strong problem-solving abilities to address patient billing inquiries, resolve discrepancies, and recommend appropriate solutions.
– Proficient in using financial calculators and tools to determine patient financial responsibilities accurately.
– Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
– Commitment to maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information and adhering to HIPAA regulations.
