JOB PURPOSE
The Medical Representative - Business Growth is responsible for driving patient acquisition, membership growth of the Nzuri Savings Club, and sustainable revenue growth for Nzuri Medical Centre. The role operates at the intersection of healthcare promotion, community engagement, and structured business development, building trusted relationships with individuals, households, community groups, and institutional partners to position Nzuri Medical Centre as the preferred provider of affordable, quality healthcare and savings solutions in its catchment area.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Patient Acquisition & Healthcare Promotion
• Develop and execute a structured outreach strategy to attract new patients to Nzuri Medical Centre across the catchment area.
• Conduct community visits, home calls, church engagements, school outreach, and workplace campaigns to promote the Centre's healthcare services.
• Educate community members on available medical services, treatment options, consultation packages, and preventive health programmes.
• Distribute marketing materials (flyers, brochures, referral cards) at strategic community touchpoints.
• Convert outreach contacts into registered patients and track lead-to-patient conversion rates systematically.
• Represent Nzuri Medical Centre at community health fairs, medical camps, district health events, and partner forums.

Savings Club Membership Growth
• Actively recruit new members into the Nzuri Savings Club by articulating the benefits of combining healthcare access with a structured savings plan.
• Support onboarding of new Savings Club members, ensuring they understand their membership terms, savings options, and healthcare entitlements.
• Follow up with prospective members to convert interest into active, contributing membership.
• Work with the Savings Club Coordinator to track member contributions, flag inactive accounts, and drive re-engagement of dormant members.
• Gather member feedback and relay it to management for product and service improvement.

Business Development & Institutional Partnerships
• Identify and engage schools, churches, community organisations, employers, and SMEs as institutional referral and membership partners.
• Negotiate and establish Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) or referral agreements with partner organisations.
• Develop tailored healthcare packages or corporate wellness proposals for employer groups and community associations.
• Monitor the performance of institutional partnerships and report conversion and retention metrics monthly.
• Identify new market opportunities, including geographic expansion, underserved community segments, and new service lines, and present findings to management.

Sales Pipeline & Revenue Contribution
• Maintain an active, structured pipeline of prospects (individuals, households, and institutions) tracking status from initial contact to conversion.
• Meet monthly and quarterly patient registration and Savings Club membership targets as set by management.
• Track service uptake by new patients and report on revenue generated from BD-sourced registrations.
• Support promotional campaigns, discount packages, and health screening events designed to drive patient footfall.
• Upsell and cross-sell Nzuri's service offerings to existing patients and members in a professional, patient-centred manner.

Patient & Member Relations
• Serve as a community-facing ambassador for Nzuri Medical Centre, maintaining high standards of conduct and professionalism at all times.
• Handle enquiries from prospective patients and Savings Club members, providing accurate information and a positive first experience.
• Collect and escalate patient and member feedback, complaints, and suggestions to the Centre Manager within 1 working day.
• Support patient follow-up activities, including appointment reminders, referral tracking, and post-visit satisfaction surveys.

Reporting & Compliance
• Prepare and submit weekly field activity reports and monthly BD performance reports to the Centre Manager.
• Maintain accurate records of outreach activities, contacts made, patients registered, and Savings Club members recruited.
• Adhere to healthcare marketing ethics, patient confidentiality requirements, and Nzuri's internal policies.
• Comply with all relevant Uganda Ministry of Health guidelines governing community health promotion activities.


QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Business Administration, Marketing, Public Health, Community Health, Nursing, or a related field.
• Minimum 1 – 2 years of experience in a sales, community outreach, medical representative, or business development role. Experience in a healthcare or service context is a strong advantage.
• Residents of Kira, Najeera, and nearby communities are highly encouraged to apply.
• Demonstrated ability to meet sales or membership targets in a community-facing role.
• Knowledge of the local healthcare landscape and familiarity with community health promotion approaches in Uganda.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel) and basic smartphone applications for reporting and communication.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
• Exceptional interpersonal communication and community engagement skills, confident, persuasive, and empathetic.
• Strong sales and negotiation skills with the ability to convert community contacts into registered patients or savings members.
• Self-motivated and target-driven with the ability to work independently in the field with minimal supervision.
• High level of trustworthiness, integrity, and sensitivity to patient confidentiality and health information.
• Fluency in English and at least one widely spoken local language (Luganda or other relevant regional language) is essential.
• Organized and methodical approach to pipeline management, record-keeping, and reporting.
• Genuine passion for community health improvement and access to affordable healthcare.
• Ability to manage a busy field schedule, prioritize leads effectively, and deliver results in a resource-constrained environment.
