Assistant Manager – Plant & Mechanical Maintenance

Job Purpose

Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of mechanical and electrical equipment across processing plants and cold-chain operations. The role will support preventive maintenance planning, equipment installation, troubleshooting and day-to-day maintenance activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage routine maintenance of mechanical and electrical plant equipment.
• Handle maintenance of blast freezers, industrial refrigeration, cold rooms, conveyors, dryers and ventilation systems.
• Implement and monitor preventive maintenance schedules.
• Coordinate technicians and external maintenance contractors.
• Support equipment installation, testing, commissioning and handover.
• Monitor spare parts, tools and maintenance requirements.
• Troubleshoot equipment breakdowns and support root-cause analysis.
• Maintain records of maintenance activities, downtime and equipment failures.
• Ensure compliance with safety, food safety and environmental standards.
• Support improvement of plant uptime, maintenance cost and equipment reliability.

Candidate Profile

• Degree / Higher Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 5–10 years of experience in plant, processing or facility maintenance.
• Experience in industrial refrigeration / cold chain is preferred.
• Exposure to blast freezers, cold rooms, conveyors, dryers, ventilation and diesel generators.
• Knowledge of electrical troubleshooting, hydraulics and plumbing.
• Experience in preventive maintenance planning and scheduling.
• Experience handling technicians and contractors.
• Food processing, cold chain, feed milling, poultry or similar industry experience preferred.
• HVAC / Refrigeration certification will be an advantage.
