Key Responsibilities
1. Occupational Health & Safety: Lead the development and implementation of safety policies, conduct risk assessments, manage incidents and emergency response, and promote a strong safety culture through training and awareness.
2. Environmental Management: Oversee environmental compliance by implementing policies, conducting impact assessments and audits, and managing permits, waste, and natural resource monitoring.
3. Compliance & Reporting: Ensure adherence to all HSSE regulations by maintaining accurate records, preparing regulatory reports, and updating policies in line with legal changes.
4. Community Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders, manage grievance mechanisms, and support community-focused initiatives such as livelihood restoration programs.
5. Leadership & Management: Provide HSSE expertise across the organization, support line managers, represent the company externally, and drive a culture of safety and sustainability.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field
- A Master’s degree is an added advantage
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in HSSE management
- Proven experience conducting ESIAs and securing regulatory approvals
- Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and compliance frameworks
- Familiarity with international standards, including IFC Performance Standards and EHS Guidelines
- Experience in agriculture or related sectors is an added advantage
