Role Description The Head of Finance & Business Control is a full-time, on-site role based in Kampala. This role is responsible for overseeing all financial operations, including preparation and review of financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting for the organization. The Head of Finance & Business Control will lead the finance team, establish and maintain internal controls, monitor cash flow, and ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements. Day-to-day tasks include analyzing financial performance, supporting strategic decision-making with data-driven insights, managing cost control initiatives, and collaborating with senior leadership on business planning. The role also includes coordinating audits, improving financial processes and systems, and providing clear, timely reports to stakeholders.
Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Finance and Financial Reporting skills, with the ability to manage end-to-end financial operations and compliance.
• Candidates should possess expertise in Financial Statements and Budgeting, including preparation, review, and interpretation to support planning and resource allocation.
• Candidates should possess advanced Analytical Skills, with the capacity to interpret data, identify trends, and provide actionable recommendations for business performance.
• Relevant academic qualifications, such as a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; professional certifications (e.g., ACCA, CPA) are an advantage.
• Proven experience in senior finance or business control roles, preferably within logistics, supply chain, or related industries.
• Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to mentor and develop a finance team.
• Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems, with high competence in spreadsheet and reporting tools.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills, with a high level of integrity and attention to detail.
