Job descriptions & requirements
Lead pastoral life across Gayaza’s six boarding houses. The Head of Boarding owns student welfare, prefect development and house-master line management.
Responsibilities
- Line-manage the six House Mistresses and the school Matron.
- Lead the safeguarding response and chair weekly pastoral case conferences.
- Run the prefect-development programme alongside the Deputy Head Pastoral.
- Own the boarding-life handbook revision cycle and the parent briefings each term.
- Coordinate the residential Open Day for prospective S1 and S5 girls.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (any subject), with a recognised teaching qualification.
- Senior pastoral leadership experience in a girls’ boarding school.
- Demonstrable safeguarding leadership; up-to-date child-protection training.
- Willingness to live on campus in the provided three-bedroom accommodation.
Nice to have
- Counselling qualification or supervised counselling experience.
