Role Description The Fundraiser Volunteer is a full-time, on-site role based in Kampala. The volunteer will support the planning and execution of fundraising activities, including organizing events, reaching out to potential donors, and maintaining relationships with existing supporters. Daily tasks include drafting fundraising materials, assisting with grant applications, updating donor records, and coordinating communication campaigns across various channels. The role also involves working with program and finance teams to understand funding needs, preparing reports on fundraising progress, and contributing ideas to improve outreach strategies. The Fundraiser Volunteer will collaborate with staff and other volunteers to ensure fundraising efforts align with the organization’s mission and ethical standards.
Qualifications

• Demonstrated interest in fundraising, nonprofit work, or community development, with the ability to support donor outreach and resource mobilization efforts.
• Strong communication skills, including clear writing, confident speaking, and the ability to engage respectfully with diverse stakeholders.
• Basic organizational and administrative skills, such as managing schedules, maintaining records, and supporting event logistics.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, show initiative, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced setting.
• Comfort using common office software and online tools (e.g., email, spreadsheets, word processing, social media platforms) to support fundraising activities.
• High level of integrity, reliability, and commitment to the values of inclusion, non-discrimination, and respect for all community members.
• Previous experience in fundraising, sales, marketing, or volunteer engagement is an advantage but not required; local knowledge of Kampala and surrounding areas is beneficial.
