Role Summary
The Fleet & Transport Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day coordination, maintenance, fuel management, and regulatory compliance of all vehicles operating under G4S Uganda. The role ensures maximum fleet availability, coordinates driver logistics, minimizes operational costs, and enforces strict G4S health, safety, and security policies.

● Location: Kampala, Uganda (with regional oversight as required)
Key Responsibilities
Fleet Maintenance & Availability
● Coordinate routine servicing, preventive maintenance, and emergency repairs for all G4S vehicles.
● Inspect vehicles regularly to ensure they are roadworthy, secure, and clean.
● Manage vendor relationships with external garages, workshops, and parts suppliers.
● Minimize vehicle downtime to guarantee uninterrupted security and operational services.
Compliance & Fuel Management
● Track vehicle tracking data, fuel consumption, and mileage to eliminate fuel fraud.
● Ensure valid documentation including third-party insurance, statutory inspections, and road licenses.
● Compile weekly fuel reports and analyze variances across different routes and vehicle types.
● Process insurance claims efficiently in the event of accidents or vehicle damage.
Driver & Logistics Coordination
● Schedule driver shifts, route allocations, and specialized transport requests.
● Monitor driver behavior using telematics systems to ensure safe driving practices.
● Enforce G4S safety standards, ensuring all drivers wear seatbelts and adhere to speed limits.
● Organize regular training programs regarding defensive driving and security awareness.
Reporting & Asset Tracking
● Maintain asset registers detailing accurate records of keys, logbooks, and fuel cards.
● Generate monthly reports highlighting fleet utilization, maintenance costs, and total cost of ownership.
● Utilize fleet software to track vehicle geofencing, speeding alerts, and idle times.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
● Fleet Availability: Maintain a minimum of 95% vehicle operational readiness.
● Fuel Efficiency: Reduce fuel variance and unauthorized usage to under 2%.
● Compliance Rate: Achieve 100% timely renewal of regulatory licenses and insurance.
● Maintenance Budget: Keep repair expenditures within the approved monthly threshold.
● Safety Record: Target zero preventable fleet accidents or safety violations per quarter.
Job Requirements & Qualifications
● Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
● Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of active experience in fleet coordination, preferably within a security, logistics, or fast-moving commercial transport environment in Uganda.
● Technical Skills: Highly proficient in fleet management software, GPS tracking systems, and Microsoft Excel.
● Driving Credentials: Possession of a valid Ugandan driving permit (Class B minimum; defensive driving certification is a strong asset).
● Core Competencies: Strong analytical skills, excellent negotiation capabilities, and the resilience to work under pressure in a 24/7 security environment.
