Estates Management Officer
Job summary
The Estates Officer is responsible for the daily maintenance of resort buildings, facilities, and grounds. The role involves hands-on electrical maintenance, carpentry, and general repairs, responding to faults and emergencies, supporting preventive maintenance, and ensuring a safe, functional, and high-quality guest environment.
Job descriptions & requirements
Routine Electrical Maintenance
Carry out day-to-day inspection, maintenance, and minor repairs of electrical systems, including lighting, sockets, switches, generators, solar systems, and backup power units.
Carpentry & Wood Repairs
Perform carpentry works such as repairing doors, windows, furniture, wooden fittings, decking, roofing components, and other wood structures within the resort.
General Handywork & Minor Repairs
Handle a wide range of maintenance tasks, including fixing locks, hinges, plumbing leaks, tiles, fixtures, fittings, and minor construction works.
Preventive Maintenance Tasks
Conduct scheduled preventive maintenance to reduce breakdowns and extend the lifespan of resort facilities and equipment.
Guest Room & Facility Maintenance
Attend to maintenance issues in guest rooms, public areas, offices, and staff accommodation promptly and professionally.
Grounds & External Facilities Maintenance
Assist in maintaining walkways, fences, landscaping structures, jetties, drainage systems, pools, and outdoor furniture.
Health, Safety & Compliance Support
Follow safety procedures and report hazards, faulty equipment, or unsafe conditions to the Estates Manager or Supervisor.
Equipment & Tool Care
Use, maintain, and properly store tools, equipment, and maintenance materials assigned to the estates department.
Fault Reporting & Documentation
Record maintenance activities, report recurring faults, and provide updates on completed or pending repair works.
Support to Contractors & Technicians
Assist external technicians and contractors during specialised works such as major electrical installations or structural repairs.
Emergency Response Support
Respond promptly to emergencies such as power outages, water leaks, or storm damage as directed by management.
Property Appearance & Standards
Ensure resort facilities are kept in good working order, clean, safe, and presentable at all times.
Stock & Materials Control
Monitor usage of spare parts and materials and report requirements to avoid shortages.
Teamwork & Operational Support
Work closely with housekeeping, front office, and operations teams to resolve maintenance issues efficiently and discreetly.
