Role Description The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) is a full-time, on-site leadership role based in Kampala, responsible for defining and executing Jaribu Consult LTD’s overall technology vision and roadmap. The CTO will oversee software development initiatives, guide product development efforts, and ensure that technology solutions align with business objectives and client needs. Day-to-day responsibilities include leading and mentoring technical teams, setting coding and architecture standards, reviewing project plans, and ensuring timely, high-quality delivery of technology projects. The role involves close collaboration with executive leadership to develop IT strategy, evaluate new tools and platforms, manage technology budgets, and maintain robust security and compliance practices. The CTO will also represent the technology function in client meetings, support pre-sales efforts, and drive continuous improvement across all technical operations.
Qualifications

• Strong background in Software Development and Architecture, with hands-on experience designing scalable, secure, and maintainable systems.
• Proven ability in Project Management, including planning, resource allocation, risk management, and delivery of complex technology initiatives.
• Demonstrated expertise in IT Strategy and Product Development, guiding technology decisions that support business goals and competitive positioning.
• Experience leading cross-functional technical teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, learning, and accountability.
• Solid understanding of modern development practices, cloud platforms, security best practices, and integration methodologies.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business terms.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field; advanced degree or equivalent experience is an advantage.
• Prior experience in a senior technology leadership role, preferably within consulting, technology services, or similar environments.
