Job Description
UDET provides Grant Management and Business Development Services to Small and Medium Enterprises (SME’s) and Farmer Based Organizations (FBO’s) in Uganda thus stimulating business growth, creating gainful employment and improved economic livelihoods.
UDET is the implementing Partner of the United States African Development Foundation (USADF) Program in Uganda.
Summary of duties and responsibilities:
• Responsible for assisting grantees to develop bankable business plans.
• Conduct due diligence on all potential grantees to ensure they meet the USADF funding criteria.
• Develop financial projections for businesses/SMEs seeking financial assistance to assess business viability.
• Assist each funded business to develop financial goals and performance indicators to be used in measuring and validating the expected results.
• Conduct industry and market analyses to establish opportunities for business growth
• Reviewing, grantee quarterly reports to assess progress
• against performance indicators and implementation plans. g. Regularly monitor all on-going projects and businesses that have problems and assist them to work out appropriate solutions in a timely manner.
Desired qualifications and experience:
• Master’s in Business Administration majoring in Finance or Marketing or any other related business qualifications. Hands on experience in designing and management of business enterprises.
• Strong analytical skills and experience in conducting due diligence on potential grantees.
• Must be competent and familiar with computer-based models that are commonly used in financial analysis. Good English writing skills is highly desirable.
