POSITION SUMMARY:

The Business Coach is responsible for equipping students with practical entrepreneurial mindsets, business skills, and real-world competencies that prepare them for self-reliance, innovation, ethical enterprise, and economic participation. The role emphasizes experiential learning, mentorship, enterprise projects, and competency-based instruction, integrating Christian values, ethical leadership, and stewardship into business thinking. The Coach supports learners to identify opportunities, develop business ideas, manage small ventures, and apply financial and problem-solving skills in real-life contexts.


ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Entrepreneurship Education & Competency-Based Instruction

  • Design and deliver engaging entrepreneurship and business learning programs aligned with the curriculum and competence-based education principles.
  • Facilitate learner-centered, practical instruction focusing on opportunity identification, innovation, problem-solving, and value creation.
  • Teach core business concepts, including basic economics, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, marketing, budgeting, record keeping, and business ethics.
  • Integrate real-life case studies, simulations, group projects, and enterprise challenges into instruction.
  • Promote creativity, resilience, initiative, and responsible risk-taking among students.


2. Student Enterprise Development & Coaching

  • Coach students individually and in groups to develop viable business ideas and small-scale enterprises.
  • Support learners in writing simple business plans, budgets, and marketing strategies.
  • Mentor student-led enterprises, school-based income-generating projects, and innovation clubs.
  • Guide students in reflecting on successes, failures, lessons learned, and personal growth.
  • Encourage ethical entrepreneurship grounded in integrity, stewardship, and service.


3. Assessment, Monitoring & Learning Outcomes

  • Design and implement formative and summative assessments aligned with competency-based outcomes.
  • Assess students based on skills acquisition, creativity, teamwork, problem- solving, and practical application.
  • Provide timely, constructive feedback to support learner improvement and confidence.
  • Maintain accurate learner progress records and contribute to academic reporting.


4. Career Guidance, Exposure & Industry Linkages

  • Support career guidance initiatives related to business, entrepreneurship, and employability skills.
  • Organize exposure activities such as business talks, mentorship sessions, field visits, and entrepreneurship fairs.
  • Build partnerships with local entrepreneurs, SMEs, cooperatives, and financial institutions.
  • Support students’ transition pathways to further education, vocational training, or self-employment.


5. Co-curricular Programs & Innovation Culture

  • Lead or support Entrepreneurship Clubs, Innovation Hubs, Business Challenges, and School Enterprises.
  • Organize student exhibitions, pitch days, market days, and competitions.
  • Foster a school-wide culture of innovation, productivity, and problem-solving.
  • Collaborate with other teachers to integrate entrepreneurship across subjects.


6. Spiritual Leadership, Character & Values Formation

  • Model Christian character, integrity, diligence, and ethical leadership.
  • Integrate biblical principles such as stewardship, honesty, service, and accountability into entrepreneurship teaching.
  • Support holistic student formation—intellectual, moral, spiritual, and practical.
  • Participate in devotions, chapel services, and school spiritual activities.


7. Administration, Safeguarding & Professional Conduct

  • Maintain accurate records of student participation, projects, and enterprise activities.
  • Participate in staff meetings, planning sessions, and professional development.
  • Uphold the school’s Child Safeguarding and Protection Policy at all times.
  • Adhere strictly to the Prevention of Sexual Exploitation, Abuse, and Harassment (PSEAH) Policy.
  • Maintain professional boundaries with students and report safeguarding concerns promptly.


8. Sustainability & Organizational Enterprise Engagement

  • Participate in organization-level entrepreneurial and income-generating initiatives that support the school’s long-term sustainability.
  • Contribute entrepreneurial insight and enterprise design support to sustainability-focused projects as they arise.
  • Propose and help develop new enterprise or sustainability pathways aligned with the school’s mission and strategic goals.
  • Collaborate with school leadership and project leads to strengthen the viability, learning value, and sustainability impact of institutional enterprise initiatives, without assuming day-to-day operational responsibility.
  • Where appropriate, link organizational enterprise initiatives to student learning and experiential opportunities.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Entrepreneurship, Business Administration, Economics, Education, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of practical experience in business, entrepreneurship, enterprise development, or youth economic empowerment.
